Cut Back On Sugar and Salt
Eliminating sugar from your diet is one of the first changes you’ll need to make. Sugar is one of the secret
devils in our diets. When you intake more sugars than your body requires or burns for energy, the excess sugar will
be converted to fat. Technically, all carbohydrates are sugar. Your body will break down table sugar and pasta the
same way. Both will be converted to glucose (which your body can then burn for energy). The excess glucose will end
up being stored as fat.
The easiest thing to do at the start of your fat burning diet is to eliminate foods with high sugar content
(candy, chocolates, cakes, cookies, etc).
In addition, you’ll want to cut down on the amount of salt and sodium in your diet. Not only can too much salt
lead to high blood pressure, but it can also cause you to retain water, leading to temporary weight gain. It is not
so much that salt causes you to gain weight, but most foods that are high in salt or sodium, are higher in
calories.
The recommended daily amount of salt is about 1 teaspoon or 2.4 grams. So identify foods that with lower salt
content to include in your fat burning diet.
Include A Healthy Amount of Fruits and Vegetables
Not many people realize just how significant a role vegetables and fruits play in a successful fat burning diet.
At the center of an effective diet to burn fat, you will always find a healthy amount of fruits of vegetables. No
matter how much you're eating now, I can almost guarantee you'll need to increase the amount of fruits and veggies
in your diet, especially the dark, leafy green vegetables. These are particularly helpful.
Finally, start drinking more water. One of the most critical steps to start a successful fat burning diet is to
replace high-calorie drinks (sodas, juices, etc) with water. It is absolutely the best thing for you. Plan to drink
about 8 glasses daily (8oz each). Drinking water will also help to satisfy your hunger, so you're not eating
meaningless calories throughout the day.
